I like to use a product extensively before writing a review because more often than not, you give it a good review and then after a few uses, it performs poorly. This is the best shovel ever – in clay soil that dries like concrete, this shovel doesn’t bend when digging deep to get at the network of roots from weeds that are as deep as a foot. It has been used when the soil is wet and muddy and every condition in between soil that was so dry that it is like breaking into concrete (literally had to use a hammer to break up the clumps that this shovel was able to cut through). I have been using it since it arrived last Aug/2024 all through fall clean up and this spring and has not lost it original shape like many shovels of all different brands before. In the picture you can see a weed and it long deep route system that runs underground. You can see by the screwdriver that is 16″ long.

I was looking for a strong spade shovel that had a nice lip on the top to use my foot to push in the ground. Also wanted a D-grip handle. I couldn’t find one at a local store. They were always missing a feature I wanted. I hate to buy site unseen as I kinda expected this to be flimsy as the price was low, but it is a solid spade shovel that exceeded my expectations. Although I gave this five stars on “light weight” it isn’t light as if it were it would be flimsy. It is a solid, nicely balanced spade shovel. I expect it will last a long time as I have already been beating it up for over a month now.
