Pseudomonas fluorescens are Gram-negative rod shaped aerobic bacteria that inhabit soil, plants, and water surfaces. It is used as a bio-control agent against several plant disease causing pathogens. Pseudomonas fluorescens produces a soluble, green fluorescent pigment pyoverdine which is responsible for chelating iron only when concentrations are low. Pseudomonas fluorescens are commensal species with plants, allowing plants to attain key nutrients, degrading pollutants, and suppressing pathogens via antibiotic productions.

Pseudomonas fluorescens with a spore load of 2 x 10^8 CFU per gram. The rhizobacterium biocontrol agent effectively controls fungal and bacterial pathogens causing bacterial blight, sheath blight, root rot, red rot, damping off and wilt diseases. Pseudomonas fluorescens is use in organic farming.

SUPPRESS RICE BLAST FUNGUS :

TO CONTROL RICE BLAST FUNGUS IN PADDY FIELD,

SEED TREATMENT :

Mix 10 g of pseudomonas fluorescens powder with 1 kg of paddy seeds.Soak the seeds in the water for over night.Remove the excess water and allow the seeds to sprout for 24 hours and sow the sprouted seeds.

RICE SHEATH BLIGHT :

Rice sheath blight will occur during the 45-65 aged days of grown paddy plants.

SOIL APPLICATION :

METHODS OF APPLICATION :

SEED TREATMENT :

Mix 10 g pseudomonas fluorescens with 1 kg of seeds.Mix rice gruel or water with the pseudomonos fluorescens treated seeds to form a slurry.Leave the mixture of seeds overnight.Remove the excess water and allow the seeds to sprout for 24 hours and then sow the sprouted seeds.

SEEDLING ROOT DIPPING :

Mix 100 g of Pseudomonas fluorescens with 10 liters of water.In this mixture, keep the seedling roots in immersed condition for 30 minutes and use the seedlings for transplantation in the field.

SOIL APPLICATION :

Mix 2 kg Pseudomonas fluorescens with 50 kg of organic manure, keep the mixture under shade for one week and apply to the soil.

HORTICULTURE/VEGETABLE CROPS :

Mix 250 g Pseudomonas fluorescens in 50 lit of water.Drench the soil near the root zone up to 15–20 cm depth for collar rot control.
