I love this book and I love the idea of a Chaos Garden. The book is short but packed with information about the best seeds to scatter. The author does point out that while this method of planting is low maintenance, it’s not, no maintenance. She includes some very useful charts about what to plant, where to plant, and how plant impacts the wildlife that this method attracts to your garden, and how that in-turn affects the ecosystem. I am attracted to the wildness of it all. Another thing I liked was all the wonderful inspiring quotes. I highly recommend this book

I love it when it’s very obvious that the author is very passionate about their topic and that is certainly the case with this book – which lends to how much fun it is to read. My husband and I have been thinking about planting a wildflower/native grass yard and so this looked like a great book to investigate doing so. It does not disappoint – it has everything that you would need to take into consideration if you were going to go down that path.I also really liked how comprehensive the book is and that it also covers gardening in general with lots of great tips to pass on to my daughter who loves to garden. I appreciate the focus on self-care and how we need to have nature in our lives. By creating a meadow garden, you are creating both a peaceful space and the actions of gardening also bring peace.I think this is a very good book for somebody who is thinking about starting a meadow garden and provides enough information for you to know whether to move forward or not. After reading this book, we will probably try a small section of our yard and see how that does by implementing the tips and techniques that she shared.

This book provides great techniques and tools, teaching step-by-step methods for creating a beautiful natural garden that will blend with the nature around you. The author has made it educational and a form of self-help talking about the connection between gardener and the garden including sustainable practices. The book will guide you through seeding, soil preparation, and care of wildflowers, along with innovative ideas like Chaos Gardening, a new social-media gardening trend.
